PRESIDENT
The
chapter President keeps the chapter focused on setting
and maintaining its goals. The President oversees officers
and committees and encourages teamwork. The President
maintains the operations of the chapter and is the point
of contact for the CPAA staff. Term:
Responsibilities:
-
Serve as voting member on and preside over the chapter.
- Chair
all Board Meetings
-
Serve as the Bay Area Chapter representative to the
CPAA or may appoint a Bay Area Chapters’ Representative.
- Submit
a President's Report to the Communications Chair for
each edition of the newsletter
-
Attend all bay area chapter events, whenever possible
-
Lead the chapter meetings
-
Serve as the main contact for the Alumni office
-
Keep Current with all CPAA policies and information
VICE PRESIDENT/EVENT MANAGER
The Vice President/Event Manager is responsible for
assisting the President in coordinating and directing
committee activities and chapter operations.
Responsibilities:
-
Serve as a voting member for the chapter
- Oversee
and coordinate with all event chairs to ensure successful
events
- Serve
a key advisor to event chairs on budgeting, marketing,
registration, and event follow-up
- Be
responsible for turning in Event write-ups to the
CPAA.
- Be
responsible for compiling and conducting the annual
survey to all alumni
- Oversee
GOLD, Social, Athletic, and Philanthropic Chairs
TREASURER
To develop and monitor the Chapter’s financial
operations.
Responsibilities:
-
Maintain financial records and reconcile discrepancies
-
Prepare annual budget with help from other officers
- Work
with event chairs to monitor cash flow
- Prepare
quarterly and annual financial reports for CPAA
-
Reports current account balance at chapter meetings.
COMMUNICATION MANAGER
Coordinates all internal and external communication
efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Email
other Bay Area chapter groups to keep in touch and
partner on events
-
Coordinates cross promotion between group events
-
Responsible for sending completed email communication
text to CPAA for upcoming events (provided by event
chair).
- Responsible
for sending out upcoming meeting reminders
-
Responsible for taking notes and follow-up items at
meeting
-
Oversees newsletter and web content
-
Oversees Registration Chair and Web Master
RECRUITMENT
CHAIR
Identify and develop potential leaders for chapter positions.
Responsibilities:
-
Works closely with CPAA to market chapter positions
and events during spring Grad Days
-
Sends CP Care Packages to graduating Poly Reps
-
Provides on-site event recruitment and materials for
open positions
-
Plans Chapter Leadership Welcome Party in June/July
GOLD CHAIR
Develops and coordinates activities that engage GOLD
(Graduates Of the Last Decade) alumni in the Bay Area.
Responsibilities:
-
Coordinate with the Social, Community Service, Professional,
and Athletic committees on ways to include GOLD alumni.
- Plan
4 GOLD events a year
- Recruit
alums to help coordinate and plan GOLD events
-
Work with Recruitment chair during winter and spring
to target graduating seniors moving to the bay area
-
With the help of the committee and graduating Poly
Reps, help plan the SF/SJ Welcome to the Real World
Social
-
Report on events at Chapter meetings
-
Host at least one event in each of the following areas:
San Francisco, Peninsula, East Bay, and South Bay
SOCIAL CHAIR
Plans and coordinates all socially geared events for
the chapter. Works closely with the Vice President and
GOLD Social Chair.
Responsibilities:
- Plan
alumni events that will engage Bay Area alumni

Works closely with GOLD Chair to plan events that
will be beneficial to all alumni
-
Responsible for planning New Student Welcome Event
in August
-
Recruit alums to help coordinate and plan specific
social events
-
Communicate with other chapters to combine and dual
market applicable events
- Report
at the chapter meeting on status of events
-
Work with Registration Coordinator on ticket purchase
-
Turn in monthly report on activities to Vice President
ATHLETICS CHAIR
Coordinates all athletic and sporting based events for
Chapter, such as SJ Sharks Game, Oakland A’s Tailgate,
and Cal Poly Sports teams. Acts as liaison between chapter
and CPAA and CP Athletics.
Responsibilities:
-
Work closely with the CPAA and CP Athletics to determine
which sporting events the chapter should participate
in
-
Coordinate with CP Athletics and CPAA for opportunities
to see CP teams play in the bay area.

Recruit alums to help coordinate and plan local athletic
or sporting events, as needed
-
Communicate with other chapters to combine and dual
market applicable events
- Report
at the chapter meeting on status of events

Work with Registration Coordinator on ticket purchase
-
Turn in monthly report on activities to Vice President
COMMUNITY SERVICE CHAIR
Coordinates all community service events for Bay Area
Chapter, such as, Food Bank Drive, Beach cleanups, Soup
Kitchens and fun Runs/Walks.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate
and plan community service based events for chapter
with local non-profits in the area

Recruit alums to participate in events

Communicate with other chapters to combine and dual
market applicable events
- Work
with Registration Coordinator on ticket purchase,
as needed

Turn in monthly report on activities to Vice President
REGISTRATION COORDINATOR
To assist chapter with registration and ticket distribution
Responsibilities:
- Work
closely with all Events Chairs to determine best registration
method.
- Track
event registrations, as needed

Respond to alumni questions or forward to appropriate
Events Chair

Communicate with other chapters to combine and dual
market applicable events
- Turn
in monthly report to Communications Manager
WEBMASTER
To maintain chapter web site and suggest ways to make
the web site more interactive
Responsibilities:
- Maintains,
edits, and updates chapter web site so that content
and events are always current

Uploads photos from past events
-
Works with the CPAA to maintain compliance with web
site requirements
-
Attends all chapter meeting
-
Works closely with Communications Manager on content
and changes for web site
